3 best memories: Family favourites
Some as a kid, some as an adult, all in my memory bank. There’s some great places in the Golden Plains area to make memories.
Fairy Park
A castle on top of a rock on top of a hill with animated fairy tales and a medieval adventure playground. Awesome.
Steiglitz
A history lesson disguised as Minecraft discovery in nature. Situated within the Brisbane Ranges National Park, you might spot wildlife or find gold. The (now ghost) town was born in 1860s during the gold rush. The old courthouse is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register and opens on Sundays for visitors to see photos, maps and other gold rush relics.
Brisbane Ranges National Park
Bushwalks from easy 1 hour circuits to intense three day hikes are available in the park. The Anakie Gorge picnic area is a good place to start or finish with lunch, depending on how early you’ve started! More than 600 species of native plants are found in the park along with kangaroos, koalas, echidnas, possums and sugar gliders.
