4 places to eat, stay and walk to GMHBA Stadium
What a treat it’s been to watch our cats AFLW team at GMHBA Stadium this summer and with the AFL team heading back to the cattery for the pre-season, we’re pumped for all things footy.
There’s never been a better time to be part of the GMHBA Stadium action, and we’ll help you make a weekend of it.
SLEEP
The recently renovated Rydges Geelong has over 100 guest rooms, a pool and spa, a stylish bar and a restaurant, plus it’s a downhill walk to the footy. (The uphill walk home will be easy after a Cats win!)
Nomads Nest is a luxury private stay, close to some of the fanciest restaurants in Geelong and just a short stroll to the stadium. Who says the footy isn’t romantic? Why not make a luxe weekend out of it?
Looking for something a little more family-friendly? No probs, book a cabin at Barwon River Holiday Park, located on the river it’s a relaxing walk to the stadium.
EAT
There is heaps of stuff within walking distance of GMHBA Stadium. Share a table full of food and some locally brewed bevvies at Little Creatures. There are pubs aplenty close by like Sawyers Arms Tavern or the Geelong RSL. Looking for a more fine dining experience after an epic win from the cats (obviously), Alma is the place for you, book in advance though, this place is hot property.
Or, of course, you can do the traditional thing and get a hot pie and sauce once you’re at the ground.
FOOTY
Get your tickets (when they become available), wrap your scarf around your neck, bring your loudest voice and go Cats!
