Your guide to flying with Avalon Airport

Make the most of your annual leave when travelling interstate and fly into Avalon Airport – the gateway to Geelong, The Bellarine and beyond.

Known as Victoria’s second airport it’s an easy way to fly and a short 25-minute drive to Geelong.

Jetstar fly direct from Sydney and the Gold Coast to Avalon Airport, with flights to run to and from Brisbane commencing 28 June 2024.

To ensure a smooth experience here are a few tips as you make your trip here by air.

Plan ahead

Before arriving at Avalon Airport, familiarise yourself with the available ground transport options to reach wherever you’re going after you land.

MyBus Geelong will pick you up from the airport and drop you off at your hotel, a mate’s place or wherever is home for the night. Taxis (via Geelong Taxi Network) and Ubers are also in ample supply.

If you prefer to be behind the wheel, Avalon Airport is serviced by Budget, Avis, Hertz and Europcar, Turnbull’s Hire and Kangaroo Rentals. Be sure to book ahead to guarantee your hire car is there on arrival.

Reset at Avalon Airport

After crossing the tarmac into the airport, take a toilet break, fuel up your phone at the charging stations and have a breather before hitting the road.

Take a moment to explore the airport’s facilities, such as shops, the domestic terminal cafe, Proveniros, and duty-free stores. Grab a bite to eat, pick up any last-minute essentials, or indulge in some retail therapy before making your way back home.
